According to the Executive Director of the analytical agency GIRA Veronique Aguera, Belarus ranks fourth in the world rating of cheese exporters, but it has great prospects for further growth in this direction, writes The DairyNews from the IV export forum "Dairy Belarus".
"Belarus covers 2/3 of cheese exports, if we talk about Europe," said Veronique Aguera.
In addition, the expert told about the markets-importers. Russia remains one of the key markets in cheese segment. China has good prospects in this direction.
"By 2022, China's level of cheese imports can reach Russia's figures, taking into account the preservation of the current rate of growth of supplies", said Veronique Aguera.
"If you look at the Japanese market, you can see that consumption is growing and it is mainly imported dairy products and cheeses. Cheese is not a must-have everyday product in Japan, but it is becoming very popular in the catering industry". - the expert noted.
According to Ms. Aguera, so-called analogue cheeses with vegetable fats are very popular in Japan, as they are considered to be a healthy diet.
