Vladimir Labinov: in six months, milk production in Karelia increased by 1.5%
Statistics on dairy production
According to Labinov, statistics of Karelia over the past six months showed an increase in the segment of milk production - 1.5%. The Deputy Head stressed that this trend does not apply to all enterprises: some of them can boast of a serious increase in production, while the indicators of others on the contrary leave much to be desired.
State support for dairy enterprises
State support was offered to Karelian dairy enterprises. It is an agreement between the state and the enterprise. According to this document, the government allocates funds to the manufacturer for the development of the enterprise, and the manufacturer, in turn, must provide a certain production growth. This agreement was offered to 14 dairy companies, five of which refused to sign because of the stipulated conditions.
In addition to the company's obligations to increase the volume of milk production, the agreement also contains obligations to carry out measures aimed at increasing the production of soil fertility. These events are not an appeal: all of them are provided with state support measures.
Leaders of the dairy market in the region
The head of the agro industrial complex of the Republic also noted the best milk producers in Karelia: ‘This is the Breeding plant Megrega with an indicator of 37 tons of milk per day and Breeding plant Ilinskoe – 30 tons of milk per day. It is also worth noting private enterprises, namely "Iskra" and state farm Agrarny, - said the Deputy Head.
The most priority areas of agriculture in Karelia
First of all, the Deputy head noted aquaculture: ‘The geography of Karelia is such that out of the total area of more than 180 square kilometers, 98% of the territory is forest, water and rocks. And farmland – only 1.5%,’ - says Vladimir Labinov. He said that in total, there are about 63 thousand lakes in the entire region, so the potential of Karelia for the development of aquaculture is obvious. There are approximately 69 enterprises operating in the region, whose last year's indicator was 32 thousand tons of trout.
Labinov noted that over the past 5-6 years, the growth rate of the annual volume of aquaculture has amounted to 7-10%. In the current half-year, production growth was 10%.
According to Rosrybolovstvo of the Russian Federation, Karelia accounts for 90% of the volume of trout grown in Russia. The region is one of the top three regions of the Russian Federation in terms of aquaculture. In terms of the volume of trout bred, Karelia broke far ahead of its competitors and took a well-deserved first place, which was facilitated by its geographical advantage.
Vladimir Labinov also drew attention to commercial crop production in Karelia. The region grows four positions of vegetable crops: potatoes, cabbage, carrots and beets.
The other products included in the list of the most priority products of Karelia were strawberries and honey. Today, farmers are abandoning the good old artisanal method: more industrial technologies are taking its place.
Northern strawberries and honey differ in quality and taste from their southern counterparts, which is facilitated by the natural conditions of the Northern region. For example, strawberries ripen much later, so they do not overlap in the supply market of Northern strawberries with strawberries from southern regions. Karelian white nights also make their contribution: they favorably affect the berry, making it much sweeter and tastier. The same can be said about honey: due to the same factors listed above, Karelian beekeepers receive enzyme-active honey at the output, and this moment is measured by the so-called diastase number. The diastase number of Northern honey is much higher than the diastase number of southern honey, so the price is much higher, and there is demand.
Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Karelia decided to allocate money in the amount of 500 million rubles to create a robotic farm based on Vedlozersyk state farm. First of all, this amount was used to increase the authorized capital of the state farm Vedlozersky. In the future, the funds will be used for design work. The regional government believes that the construction of the farm will take approximately 2-2. 5 years.
