Voronezh authorities will support companies engaged in the production of organic products
"The region is ready to support the promising direction of organic production. I am sure that the future of the agro-industrial complex is directly related to our common desire to ensure the development of all its branches, and first of all those that guarantee the high quality of domestic products", said Trukhachev.
The first company to develop the production of environmentally friendly products in Voronezh region will be "EkoNiva-APK Holding". The company will allocate 4 thousand hectares of land in the village Divnogorie in Liski district of Voronezh region for the cultivation of organic grains, soybeans, lentils and the production of organic milk and dairy products, said President of “EkoNiva” Stefan Duerr to TASS on Thursday. In 2019 it is planned to collect non-organic crops, as the company entered the region when the crops were already planted. In the next two or three years there will be a transition period, after which “EkoNiva-APK Holding” will switch to fully organic production.
All products are planned to be marked with a special badge of the National organic union, developed jointly with the Ministry of agriculture of Russia. Milk will cost about 50% more compared to inorganic analogues, cottage cheese — by 30%.
The main difference between products with the prefix "organic" is that when they are grown, mineral fertilizers such as ammonium nitrate, as well as pesticides are not used, only biological additives are allowed. The President of “EkoNiva-APK Holding” told reporters that in 1994 there was an attempt to grow organic products in Russia, but it was not successful". At that time we were still exporting Russian organic products to Europe: to Holland, Austria, Germany. But then we didn’t have time for anything else", he explained.
Earlier it was reported that in autumn of 2019 "EkoNiva-APK Holding" plans to put into operation a plant for the production of dairy products, cheese and butter with a capacity of 60 tons of milk per day in Shchuchye village of Liski district. The volume of investments is about 800 million rubles. In addition, the holding is also upgrading the dairy plant in Anna village, after which its processing capacity will grow from 300 to 440 tons per day. A shop for the production of 20 tons of cottage cheese per day will be also opened there.
