In addition, Alexander Tkachev announced proposals to create a unified system of veterinary supervision. Under his guidance, proposals for the combination of the Rosselkhoznadzor and Rospotrebnadzor were actively discussed.
– You know that the Rosselkhoznadzor controls only the cultivation of products, mainly raw materials. Both in animal husbandry and crop production. And processing, wholesale warehouses, retail chains are all controlled by the Rospotrebnadzor. We believe that the system is viable, of course, but ineffective. We want to create a unified system of control and supervision, as it happens in many developed countries, – said Alexander Tkachev.
The activity of Tkachev as the Minister of agriculture was the subject of an investigation of the Government Commission on the conflict of interest, the investigation took place in the State Duma. In addition, during the same period Tkachev left the Supervisory Board of the Rosselkhozbank. According to the results of the investigation in the State Duma Tkachev was not found to be involved in the conflict of interest connected with the Firm "Agrocomplex", owned by the family of ex-Minister.
Since May 18, 2018 the Ministry of agriculture is headed by Dmitry Patrushev, who was Chairman of the Board of the Rosselkhozbank since 2010.
