Where investment projects in dairy industry are being implemented in Russia
If we pay attention to the key regions that produce milk, we can conclude that there is a correlation between the amount of state support provided and the level of regional productivity. For example, according to the Dairy Intelligence Agency, 1.35 million tons of milk were produced in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2019. Thanks to this, the region took the first place in the list of milk producers by milk production. According to the Agency for strategic initiatives, in July 2020, the Republic took the second place in the ASI investment rating. The first place in the rating traditionally was taken by Moscow region.
The DairyNews has prepared an overview of investment projects in the milk production and processing industry. Information is taken from open sources. As you can see, the largest milk producer in Russia – EkoNiva – has the most investment projects. The owner of the holding company, Stefan Duerr, said in a comment to The DairyNews: ‘We have frozen the Olgino project for at least two years. Of the last implemented projects, we have launched a complex in Voronezh region (this is Buturlinovka district), but not at full capacity yet. The project in Bashkiria has been implemented. A farm is being built in the Bobrov district of Voronezh region, and two more will be built next year - in Liski and Bobrov districts.’
A number of projects are also being implemented at the level of active regional state support, for example, in Chelyabinsk or Oryol regions.
