Yaroslavl region plans to increase production of milk and to ensure the needs of the region by 80%, said Deputy Chairman of the regional government Valery Kholodov on Tuesday.
"The head of the region in the strategy of socio-economic development of the region "10 points of growth" has set the task to increase the productivity of cows up to 6.5 tons of milk per year. The self-sufficiency of the region with milk is expected to rise from 64% to 80%," - said V. Kholodov.
According to him, in the field of dairy farming for the near future it is planned to implement six investment projects for the total amount of about 6 billion rubles.
"In the investment portfolio (of the region) there are 6 projects. They will allow to increase the number of cows by nine and a half thousand heads and to create about 300 jobs. Tax revenues from new households will amount to 95 million rubles," - said the Chairman of the regional government.
Thus, according to him, measures to support farmers, adopted in 2017, "prove their effectiveness”. In the framework of these measures family livestock farms can receive grants up to 30 million rubles, and those who are starting a farm can apply for support of up to 3 million rubles. Milk producers can compensate the direct costs from the Federal and regional budgets in the amount of 30% and 5%, respectively.
V. Kholodov stressed that according to Rosstat, Yaroslavl region takes the second place in the country in the growth of milk production.
