Such opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Committee on agriculture and rural development, the head of GK "TRIO" Yevgenia Uvarkina in the course of Agrobusinessforum at the exhibition "Golden autumn-2016," reports The DairyNews.
"Only 40% of milk is produced on new farms in Russia. And of course, old farms need upgrading. The youth will work only on high-tech enterprises", - said the expert.
Besides, Yevgenia Uvarkina mentioned the need to pay attention to the development of genetics, reminding that Soyuzmoloko presented the program of development of dairy cattle breeding, according to The DairyNews.
"We need 1 million cows to increase milk production", - said Alexander Tkachev during the discussion at the forum. The Minister also noted that the Federal agricultural Department will subsidize the modernization of old dairy farms. "It is very important for us", - summed up Alexander Tkachev.
