Yuri Pronin: Manual application of labeling codes on an ice cream cone is impossible
According to the expert, after the start of ice cream labeling, the company operates using stocks of products produced in previous months.
‘We are installing labeling equipment on the line: printers and scanners arrived late, although they were ordered in February. We practice manual labeling of codes on the product, which greatly slows down the speed of the lines,’ said Yuri Pronin.
The expert also highlighted several problems that the company faces because of the introduction of mandatory digital labeling. As the main problem, he noted the lack of decisions on labeling the ice cream cone.
‘We planned a typographic method. However, the printing house is not technically ready to put the code on a cardboard cone. Initially, they had a project with the CATD for applying, but there are no results for today. Manual application is impossible, due to the high speed of the line,’ he noted.
Yuri Pronin also said that now there are no decisions on applying the code to the product in parchment and the conditions for exporting ice cream to Belarus are not defined.
‘Partners require the delivery of goods with codes. There is no understanding of their reading on the territory of the CU countries. In addition, some retail chains require the application of the code on the ice. Ice is not subject to labeling. Additional explanatory work is being carried out on this issue,’ the expert stressed.
According to him, it is also necessary to recruit additional personnel for the labeling project. In addition to a decrease in labor productivity on the lines, which depends on a decrease in speed, JSC Novosibholod increases the wage fund for the enterprise.
In addition, Yuri Pronin said that the company has difficulties with the speed and completeness of transmitting reports on the introduction of codes into circulation with the CATD.
‘Appeals to the hotline of the CATD are ineffective. Problems are solved manually, after personal calls to the operator. A more effective tool is personal calls to the employees of the CATD, with whom they worked earlier as part of the labeling testing,’ the expert noted.
At the same time, he said that problems could be solved by attracting additional funds and involving employees, but there are still no solutions for some products.
‘The company has losses associated with a decrease in the standard speed of production lines due to labeling and an increase in the wage fund due to the involvement of additional personnel for labeling,’ concluded Yuri Pronin.
