Cheese consumption in Russia in 2019 was 5.7 kg per capita. This was announced by Yuri Vlasenko, marketing Director of the group of companies “PiR Product”, during the plenary session "Points of growth, new products and technologies in the dairy industry", writes The DairyNews.
"The cheese market is growing. Last year, consumption per capita reached 5.7 kg per year. At the same time, in this issue, we should compare our situation with neighboring markets with a similar consumption culture - in Poland, consumption is at the level of 11.5 kg, in Finland - 18 kg. That is, the Russians have a very large physical potential for cheese consumption", said Yuri Vlasenko.
The main factor limiting the growth of cheese consumption in Russia, he called the low level of income of the population.
